Step 1: Add Versal as an External Tool Provider or “App”
You may integrate Versal at the course level or account level on Canvas. In either case, visit the settings tab of that account or course and follow these instructions. In this article we’ll be adding Versal at the course level.
Navigate to the “Settings” for your account or course and click on the “Apps” tab
Click “View App Configurations”
Click "Add App"
Fill out these fields with the following information (picture below):
- Configuration type: Manual Entry
- Name: your choice (we did “Versal”)
- Consumer Key and Shared Secret: if you have not received this information from Versal yet please contact us here
- Launch URL: https://versal.com/lti.v1.xml
- Domain: versal.com
- Privacy: Public
Notice Versal is now listed as an app
Step 2: At the course level, add Versal materials via Assignments.
Navigate to the Assignment section of your course and click the add assignment button
Fill out these fields with the following information (picture below):
- A title of your choosing
- Points: 100
- Display Grade as: Percentage
Continue to fill out these fields with the following information (picture below):
- Submission Type: External Tool
- External Tool URL: Your Versal LTI course link (see note below)
- Then, click Save & Publish or Save
Note: Your Versal LTI link found on the sharing tab of your course management page
The Versal course is now listed in the Assignment area of the Canvas course
Click on the link to access the Versal content via LTI
